Questions
Plain answers
What Linkaloo is, what it counts and what it never keeps.
What is Linkaloo?
A short link service. You paste a long address, choose a back-half or take a random one, and share the short link. Every click is counted at the redirect, and you read the numbers on a dashboard.
What does a clean link mean?
Nothing is added to the short link. Tags and UTM fields you set are put on the address people land on, not on the link you share.
Can I choose the end of the link?
Yes. Choose your own back-half, or leave it empty and Linkaloo makes a random seven characters without look-alike letters such as 0 and O. Some words are reserved.
302 or 301?
You pick per link. 302 is the default. 301 tells browsers and search engines the move is permanent.
What is counted for a click?
The time, the country, the host of the page the visitor came from, the device, browser and system, a flag for bots and link previews, and a visitor hash that changes every day so uniques can be counted.
Do you store IP addresses?
No. The IP address and the full user agent are never stored.
Are bots counted as people?
No. Known bots, link previews and a flood of clicks are flagged as bots and shown apart from people. A HEAD request is not counted at all.
Where do I read the numbers?
On the dashboard: totals, clicks per day, top links, referrers, countries and devices. Each link has its own page with uniques, browsers and systems over 7, 30 or 90 days.
What do you check before a link is made?
Only http and https addresses are accepted, with no embedded password, no private or local address, no loop back to Linkaloo and no other link shortener.
What if a short link is abused?
Anyone can report it on a public form. A link that is taken down answers 410 and its back-half stays blocked.
Can my agent make links?
Yes. Connect your assistant over MCP and use the Linkaloo door: it can make a link, list your links and read the stats of one. Bring your own AI.
Is it open to everyone?
Not yet. It is a closed beta: request access and we write back when your seat is ready.
